Calico's is a great place to meet with friends and/or have meetings (there's a private meeting room available for a modest fee). Good coffee and a wide selection of loose leaf teas (all organic, fair trade) and locally baked goods ara available, as is the art on the walls (by local artists)! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, historic Bay Street location. There girls are awsome!

Until about two weeks ago, I had been a regular customer at Calicos. Due to the over-all positive experience of this great coffee-house, I always over-looked one very rude woman who served over the counter, and continued to spend a fair amount of money every-day. Then, about two weeks ago, the same counter-person ( a girl with glasses an short hair) shocked me with an extreme spite of public rudeness. As she walked away from the table I had sat at, she loudly called out to me (in front of the other customers) that I should refrain from leaving a wad of gum on the plate. I was so humiliated that I gathered the coffee and two cakes I had bought, brought them back to the counter, and then walked out. It will be a long time before I come back. That being said, I still have a positive over-all impression of Calicos, but the owners should keep a closer eye on their staff.
